Vision Rehabilitation Therapy – Independence and Self-Sufficiency

Legally blind individuals receiving services with NABA may receive instruction with a Vision Rehabilitation Therapist (VRT).  A VRT can provide adaptive instruction at the individual’s home, work site, or school in the following areas of need:

  • Meal Preparation 
  • Home Management 
  • Personal Management
  • Financial Management 
  • Use of Low Vision Aids 
  • Light Technology 
  • Communications Skills 

Vision Rehabilitation Therapists assist blind and visually impaired people maintain their independence or become as independent as possible. Adaptive equipment such as the following may be provided for free if the individual is enrolled in NABA’s rehabilitation program:

  • Large print telephones
  • Talking clocks
  • Check writing guides
  • Large print kitchen products
  • Large print medication organizers
